LATEST BOOKS'n'AUTHORS
BRIMSTONE KISS by Carole Nelson Douglas is now available everywhere and getting
great reviews. You can find out more about it here:
www.juno-books.com/brimstone_kiss.html. There's an excerpt to read
(http://juno-books.com/brimstone_ex.html), a bookmark to download
(http://juno-books.com/i/brimstone-bookmark.pdf) and, of course, the Brimstone
Kiss Cocktail Page (http://juno-books.com/brimstone_kiss_cocktail.html).
The ebook will probably be posted on Fictionwise on November 1.

The MATTERS OF THE BLOOD mass market paperback is now in stores. There's an
updated Web page (http://juno-books.com/matters.html) and its hot new sequel
BLOOD BARGAIN will hit the shelves in November.
Maria's posted an interesting "Twenty Bits of Personal Canon" with various bits
of information about her Blood Lines series characters Keira Kelly, Adam Walker,
Tucker Kelly, Niko and Bea.

Matthew Cook NIGHTS OF SIN came out at the end of August. (You can read an
excerpt and find out more from the NIGHTS OF SIN Web page.
(http://juno-books.com/nights-of-sin.html). Matt's having a "Spot the book, and
take a photo of yourself with it!" Contest. Everyone who sends him a photo will
be entered in a contest for a set of autographed cover flats for Nights of Sin
and Blood Magic. For more info:

HITHER & THITHER
I had a great time as editor GOH at CONTEXT 21 in Columbus, Ohio last month.
Linda Robertson, whose VICIOUS CIRCLE will be out next year, lost her "con
virginity" and learned that being on panels and promoting herself and her book
weren't so bad after all. She did have to make her debut on a panel with TANYA
HUFF and me -- and we both tend to, uh, talk a lot.
Linda's started a blog, too: http://www.wolfsbaneandabsinthe.blogspot.com/.
She's blogging a Tarot card a day and all jazzed up...or would that be "rocked
up"?...for a reunion gig with her former band. Yes, we've been promised photos!
SUBMISSIONS
Submissions are still closed. There's a good reason for this. Really. I just
can't say what that reason is yet. It's Halloween -- we're being mysterious!
JUNO'WEEN
Many of our novels make excellent Halloween reading or gifts: Carole Nelson
Douglas's DANCING WITH WEREWOLVES and BRIMSTONE KISS are a lot of fun, but they
also have some scary werewolves and vampires. There's fun, vampires and horrific
events in Maria Lima's MATTERS OF THE BLOOD and its sequel, BLOOD BARGAIN (out
soon), even has a scary cemetery.
You'll meet demons and witches in Stacia Kane's PERSONAL DEMONS and an ancient
necromancer raising an army of the dead in SEABORN by Chris Howard. Another sort
of necromancer fights the inhuman Mor in BLOOD MAGIC and NIGHTS OF SIN by
Matthew Cook.
Lauren must confront the dark energies of the past in the romantic and
atmospheric, BLACKNESS TOWER by Lillian Stewart Carl. In Margaret Lucke's HOUSE
OF WHISPERS, Claire's paranormal powers help solve a bloody crime in a haunted
house. The entire world is threatened by a malevolent deity in APRICOT BRANDY by
Lynn Cesar.
You'll also find dark thrills and chills in MASTER OF SHADOWS by Janet Lorimer,
DARK MAIDEN by Norma Lehr, RAGS AND OLD IRON by Lorelei Shannon, and TWELVE
STEPS FROM DARKNESS by Karen E. Taylor. We also re-published the classic
historical horror novel A MORTAL GLAMOUR by Chelsea Quinn Yarbro.
All our books are available for direct sale: http://www.

QUOTATION:
"For me, writing something in the spirit of Halloween is like Mother Teresa
writing on charity and sacrifice. It's just second nature to me." -- Danny
Elfman (1953-) American musician and composer
